Four New Frozen Vegan Options
Budget supermarket Aldi UK is expanding its meat-free range with four new frozen vegan options joining its existing plant-based range in stores this month.
Hot on the heels of the likes of Waitrose, M&S and Tesco who have recently launched vegan sausage rolls following the overwhelming popularity of Gregg’s vegan sausage roll, Aldi has launched its very own version.
Mae’s Kitchen Vegan, No Sausage Rolls (£1.19 for a 4 pack) are wrapped in flaky, golden puff pastry and are made using soya. They have been lovingly created to be as good as the real thing and at just 30p each, they are worth a try!
Mae’s Kitchen Vegan No Beef Burgers and Mae’s Kitchen Vegan No-Chicken Burgers
Also joining Aldi’s new frozen vegan range are Mae’s Kitchen Vegan No Beef Burgers and Mae’s Kitchen Vegan No-Chicken Burgers.
The No Beef Burgers (£1.99 for a pack of 2) are everything you would expect from a burger… thick, flavorsome and juicy; you’ll find it hard to believe they’re vegan! Made from a blend of soy and pea protein, onions and mushrooms, they boast an impressive 19g of protein per burger and closely resemble a meat patty in taste and texture.
Keen to give customers some new options to try, Aldi has also launched Mae’s Kitchen Vegan No-Chicken Burgers (£1.99 for a 2 pack) as a delicious chicken alternative that will rival any fast food chain favorites.
The No-Chicken burgers are made with vegetable protein and covered in a golden crumb coating to give the taste and texture of a chicken burger.
Those looking for healthier options for their summer BBQ will find Aldi’s new Mae’s Kitchen Superfood Burgers (£1.29 for a 2 pack) are packed full of the good stuff. You’ll find quinoa, couscous, pumpkin seeds, butternut squash, red pepper and sweet potato all crammed into one burger.
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said: “The launch of our new vegan range is in response to our growing, ethically inspired customer base, looking for delicious alternatives to meat and another example of our ongoing commitment to cater for all diets, at everyday low prices. We look forward to expanding our vegan offering even further over the coming months.”
